It is with saddened hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dad, husband, brother, pop, and friend, John Garfield Smith, at the age of 80 years, on May 20th, 2024. Predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Frances, infant son, Barry Joseph, parents, Violet and Joseph, and brother, Clayton. Also predeceased by his mother and father in-law, Ethel and William.

Leaving to mourn with cherished memories: his children John (Karen), Wayne (Kelly), David (Tina), Cassie Locke (Dave), Elizabeth Kozyra (Walter), Glen (April), and Carl (Leslie), grandchildren Ryan, Emily, Matthew, Melanie, Jacob, Kendall, Eason, Nathan, Cailey, Sophie, Benjamin, Kelsey, Abigayle, Cameron, Luke, and Hillary. John is survived by his brother Howard (Sybil) and a large circle of extended family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Tuesday, May 21st, 2024, from 3 – 7 pm.
