Jewel, Cheryl, Lonnie, Darryl & families. Sincere condolences on your dad’s passing.
Ben was my wife’s Uncle.
I first met Ben over 40 years ago in St Anthony & was quickly introduced to the Kean wit & humor. He always had a healthy skepticism & opinion on most topics so I learned early on not to challenge him too much…we got along fine. We’ve had many more encounters since.
Lots of coffee’s lots of talks about country music, schooners, hockey, old hymns, the Bible, Pound Cove where he spent his early days, Quirpon where he lived with his family on Nobles Island & many adventures & misadventures he experienced.
Jewel & Cheryl were always there with his favorite foods & NL books that he loved to read. I use to call him “The Professor” which would get a few strange looks from him.
I feel richer for having known Ben.
I’ll miss our time.
God speed …rest in peace.
Love to all the family.
