 Ronald MacNeill

Passed peacefully away at Pleasant View Towers on February 10, 2025, age 97 years.Predeceased by his first wife, Thelma, and son-in-law, George Boyce. During his career Ron was a well-known businessman in Atlantic Canada. He owned and operated MacNeill’s Records in downtown St. John’s for many years. He was proud of his efforts and accomplishments in promoting Newfoundland and Labrador recording artists. In later years Ron enjoyed time with family and friends. He was an avid knitter and cross stitcher and enjoyed gifting people with his artistic talents. Although Ron began his life in an orphanage in Moncton, New Brunswick, he went on to have a large circle of family and friends. Left with wonderful memories are his loving wife Ethel (Rees) MacNeill; son Glenn (Neng) MacNeill, daughter Wendy Boyce. Stepchildren, Christine Tucker (Derek), Gloria Rees (Tony)Gylland, Sylvia Pinkse (Harry), Kirk Rees (Heather), Paul Rees (Susan). 14 grandchildren: Lindi (Alain), Laura, Allison (Bryan), Jordan (Trish), Natasha (Jason), Mark, Sylvia (Andrew), Devin (Carrie), Curtis RIP (Stacy), Chad (Christine) Stephen (Carley), Sarah, Kyle (Laura), Simon (Holly), Daniel (Becky), Chelles (Laura). 25 Great grandchildren and 2 Great greatgrandchildren. Also, a large circle of extended family and friends. The family would like to thank his compassionate caregivers at Admirals Coast Retirement Centre in CBS and most recently, his compassionate caregivers at Pleasant View Towers in St. John’s. Your kindness will long be remembered. As per Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Sunday, February 16 at 1:30 PM.
