
Obituary of Pamela Benson
Pamela Gertrude Benson (Holden), born in St. John’s on September 4th, 1962, passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2025, at the Health Sciences Center. She is survived by her loving husband Gary, her son James (Megan), and her daughter Amanda (Garett). Pamela was predeceased by her parents, Gertrude Holden (Burke) and John Holden and her sister Jeanette Foley (Holden), and her beloved dog Coco.
Pamela leaves behind a vast network of family and friends who stood by her side through her most challenging times as she bravely battled Multiple Sclerosis. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to New Beginnings Home Care services, especially Terry Lynn, who became a close friend, and all the dedicated homecare workers over the years for their unwavering support and care.
In her early years, Pamela was a vibrant and fun-loving woman, known for being the life of the party. Her infectious laugh and radiant smile could light up any room. She had a deep love for music, particularly enjoying the lively banter of Jlac, Candice Udle, and Mike Campbell on her favorite station, KRock. Despite the many challenges she faced due to her illness, Pamela will always be remembered for her lightheartedness and humorous personality. Pamela was truly an inspiration of the perseverance of the human spirit in everything she faced.
