I was deeply saddened to learn of Frank’s passing. Though I knew him only during my visits to the nursing home over a number of years, he left a lasting impression on me with his gentle spirit and thoughtful presence.
It was always a pleasure to sit and talk with him as my Uncle shared a room with him. He had a quiet strength and a kind way about him that made those moments meaningful.
I also want to share how evident it was that the owners (Mr. & Mrs. Michael Woodford & Family) and staff cared for him with true compassion and respect. It was heartening to see the warmth and attention they gave him—not just in the basics of care, but in the genuine way they interacted with him each day. He was in good hands, surrounded by kindness and love.
I couldn’t attend his Service as I was out of the Province. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.
With deepest sympathy,
Eleanor Costello

We send sincere condolences to all of Mr. Kavanagh’s family at this time. My late Dad had many visits and wonderful chats with Mr. Kavanagh. His name was always mentioned in our home. My Dad certainly thought highly of him. He was a pleasure to be around and other people that knew him felt the same way about him commenting that his laughter and smile would light up every room that he was in. Please cherish all your wonderful memories and we know that you have many. We would definitely assume that he will be missed at Woodford’s home where he spent his last 40 years. Please know that you are all in our prayers and thoughts.

I was a next door neighbour to Frank on Bell Island. We grew up on the east end of the island, free with not a care in the world. I loved his stories. RIP Frank.
