Passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on May 24th, 2025, at the age of 55, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Leaving to mourn with broken hearts are her husband Joe Penney and her cherished daughter, the light of her life, Keira. She also leaves her loving parents William and Patricia; her sisters Denise (Tony) and Michelle (Randy); her brother Brian (Tammy); sisters-in-law Angela (Robert), Heather (Ian), and Carla; and brothers-in-law Bruce (Sharon) and Dwight (Alvina).

She will be deeply missed by her nieces Madeline and Emily; nephews Robert, Christopher, Spencer, Cameron, Devon, Readen, Keegan, Sullivan, and Ryan; and her loyal pooch Cooper.

She was predeceased by her in-laws Jackie & Joe; brothers-in-law Billy and Tony; and special niece Crystal.

Also left to mourn with fond memories are members of the Kavanagh, Barron and Philpott families, who span the globe, and her dear friends Nancy, Tina, Dana, Deila, Karen, Jen, Denise, Kim, Sandy and Louise. Her memory will also live on in the hearts of her cherished Dragon Girls, as well as a wide circle of other special friends, long-time family friends and coworkers.

Christine loved life and was always up for an adventure. Whether she was crafting, drawing, setting off on weekend camping trips, boating with her "dragons," or kayaking on the ocean, she approached everything with a smile and an unshakeable optimism. She adored her family and friends and loved their many get-togethers. There was always gonna be fun to be had when Christine was around. She loved intensely and never missed an opportunity for a giggle and to say “loves ya”. 

Her greatest treasure was her daughter, Keira. Christine absolutely loved being a mom—it was her most cherished role, and one in which she truly excelled. The incredible person Keira has become is a testament to Christine’s love and guidance.

Through all of her treatments and in her weakest moments she always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye and a hankering to take on anyone for a game of crib.  Her strength, joy, and spirit never wavered. She will be loved forever and missed immeasurably. #uckfay ancercay
