July 6, 1943 - May 29, 2025
It is with profound sadness and much love that we mourn the passing of Rowena Brownlee on May 29, 2025, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Rowena’s final moments were spent with the love of her life, her husband Paul of 63 years.
To know Rowena was to know joy, resilience, love and a kindness that was unwavering. She had a quiet strength that lifted others without needing to speak loudly. Rowena was the heart of her family, a steady presence and a guiding light. Her faith and love for the Lord was remarkable. Her greatest joy being her family, her legacy. The family she built with her best friend. Nothing brought her more joy than her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rowena was born in Little Catalina Newfoundland on July 6, 1943 to Cecil and Rachel Johnson. She spent much of her adult life in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories where she owned and operated a real estate company. Later opening a group home, where she had the joy of having many children come into her heart and home.
Rowena will be missed tremendously by all that had the privilege of knowing her. She was predeceased by her parents Cecil and Rachel Johnson, brothers Gerald and Bruce, sisters Lurley and Audrey, as well as her beloved granddaughter Terri. Left to mourn, remember and celebrate the beauty that was her life, her husband Paul, children Paula (Tim) Friesen, Heather (Harry) Cracower, Robbie (Kim) Brownlee, Tammy (Dennis) Brownlee, David (Ashli) Brownlee, Grandchildren Maggie, Allison, Rachel, Sarah, CJ, Tiana, Emma, Ethan, Brooke, Nadja, Alyssa, Reanna, Kailynn and Tyler. Great grandchildren, James (aka TJ), Addyson, Braxton, Nathan, William, Ryver, Reign, Daxton, Quinn, Oaklynn and Kacie.
