With shattered hearts, we announce the sudden and tragic passing of Mitchell Crotty, age 38 — a devoted father, beloved husband, adored brother and son, and treasured friend. He left us far too soon on June 30, 2025, and our lives are forever changed without him.
To know Mitch was to love him. He had a great, booming laugh and a presence that made everyone feel seen and welcomed. He was strong, hardworking, and generous — the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back. But he was also a big kid at heart: full of fun, energy, and mischief.
He was a proud father to Sadie and Cam, who adored him and saw him as their hero and the “strongest man in the world.” There was no doubt how deeply he loved them — his world revolved around them. He made sure they always felt safe, loved, and celebrated. With his wild imagination and playful spirit, he turned everyday moments into magical adventures. He was their safe place, their biggest cheerleader, and their forever protector.
Mitch was a fiercely loyal Boston Bruins fan — win or lose, he was always cheering loud and proud. Mitch loved the simple things in life - golfing on a Friday evening with his buddies, a weekend at the camper, or cold Miller Lite with country music playing. Mitch was an extremely hard worker and took great pride in any job. If someone needed a job done, they knew they could count on Mitch to do it. He was loved and respected by his co-workers on the many jobs he worked as a tradesman, most recently at NL Hydro.
Predeceased by his mother Christine, Uncles Kevin, Randy and Teddy Crotty, grandparents Shirley Kelly, Edward and Theresa Crotty.
He is survived by his soulmate and loving wife, Stacey, his beautiful princess, Sadie and best buddy Cam; best friend and sister, Christa (Mark, Landon, Lainey) and father, Leo; his in laws: Juanita and Brian Dwyer, Ronnie Warford( Paula) ,Samantha (Karl), Stephen( Janice) and Nan (Dora), buddies Mark, KC, Jones, Davey, Lyndon, Reid and Ennis, and a wide circle of cousins, friends and family who will miss him deeply.
