Passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2025, a few weeks into his 87th year. Dad (AKA Poppy and Bobo) was an expert barbecuer on both gas and charcoal, a talented artist in both oils and pen and ink, and an accomplished fisherman of both spinner and fly. Dad shared with us a keen and punny sense of humour, a love of classical music, and an appreciation for spending time with friends and family. Robin was born in St. John's and moved to Labrador City as a young man to explore the newly created Iron Ore Company of Canada. He had only planned to stay for a short time but then he met his future wife, Catherine (Kay) Wareham, a young nurse from Corner Brook. They ended up raising a family there and it became his home for 32 years. Then upon his retirement, they moved back to the island. In a brilliant and loving partnership that lasted more than 55 years, Mom and Dad spent most of their time together. They enjoyed skidooing, hunting ptarmigan, fishing for trout in summers and in winters, and landscaping and renovating their second home in Kelligrews. Dad treated everyone around him with respect and was a role model of fairness, consideration, and always putting forth your best work Predeceased by Catherine (Kay) LeDrew in 2024.
