Surrounded by his loved ones, Gerald Francis Dawe, age 76, of Kelligrews, Conception Bay South, passed away peacefully on September 23rd, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, faith, and devotion.
Gerald is lovingly reunited in the afterlife with his father and mother: Frank and Agnes Dawe; his brothers, Lloyd and Bruce Dawe; his Nephew Chad Gosse; and his travel companion, Maurice Brewster.
He is deeply mourned by his siblings: Janet Gosse (Lawrence), Gary Dawe (Josephine), Goldie Halley (Tom), Cindy Morgan (Glenn), and Brenda Dawe (Doug), as well as his sisters-in-law, Sharon and Marie Dawe. Known affectionately as “Uncle Gerald,” he leaves behind fond and loving memories with his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Upon retirement from the Department of Finance, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Gerald enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, especially gardening and travel. He cared deeply for his friends and family and was genuinely interested in their lives. His big smile, warm hugs, and infectious laugh brought comfort and happiness to those around him.
As a man of faith, Gerald took pride in giving his time, talent, and treasure to the community of St. Peter’s Anglican Church. He was a cherished friend to many parishioners and clergy; he will be dearly missed.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nursing and support staff at Glenbrook Lodge. Your care, compassion, and professionalism will never be forgotten.
As per Gerald’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at 1:00 PM at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies, with interment to follow.
