Margaret Baker (née Mercer)

August 11, 1944 – October 6, 2025

Passed peacefully away on October 6, 2025, at the age of 81 years.

Predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Boyd (2019); parents William and Mary Jane Mercer; beloved grandson Andy (2009); brother Harrison; and sisters Evelyn, Rita, Shirley, and Olga.

Left with fond and loving memories are her sons Bob (Tina) and Roger (Karen); daughter Rosanne; grandchildren Robyn (Hussain), Bobby (Megan), Matthew (Victoria), and Harley; and her precious great-grandchildren Ethan, Caleb, and newborn baby Theo. Also left to remember her with love are her sisters Joan, Sandra, and Florence, and her best friend, Bert the cat. She will be dearly missed by a large circle of family and friends.

Mom was the heart of our family and will be remembered for her devotion to animals, her green thumb, and her love of the written word.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews (570 Conception Bay Highway) on Thursday, October 9th, from 3–7 p.m.
