It is with broken hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Lorraine Susie Lawlor (nee Coates), a devoted wife, mother, Got/grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, neighbour and friend.
Predeceased by parents, David and Dorcas Coates, brothers David and Jim, sister and brother-in-law Joyce and Lenord Mills, brother-in-law David Andrews, brother-in-law Gord Fewer, brothers-in-law Hubert Butler, James Brazil, and John Butters. Special in-laws Madeline and Bernard Lawlor, and brother-in-law David Lawlor.
Survived by her best friend and loving husband, Gordon Lawlor, her only child who she was so proud of Greg Lawlor (Karen Lawlor), her only grandchild who she was fiercely protective of Ryan Lawlor (Aimee Lawlor), and her special pride and joy, her only great-grandchild Little Princess Sophie Lawlor. Sisters, Marie (Harvey Porter), Dorothy Butler, Ruby Nugent, Jean Andrews, Enid (Bruce Cardwell), Valerie and brother Harry Coates, sisters-in-law Lee Coates. Brothers-in-law William Lawlor (Lorraine), Gerald Lawlor (Patsy), Brian Lawlor, and sister-in-law Lynda Lawlor. Many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
Lorraine was a very strong and hard-working individual who enjoyed nothing better than to work side by side with Gordon and Greg, to dance and laugh with Ryan, and to watch Sophie explore her new world. She always wanted to be with family and shared many laughs camping, snowmobiling, in a canoe (if she could see the bottom, dancing, on ATV’s, fishing, and traveling. She made the best egg sandwiches, hamburgers and especially her molasses raisin bread.
Visitation at Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Thursday, October 16th, 2025, from 3-7pm. Funeral Service at St. Edward’s Parish (St. Thomas of Villanova Church) 2696 Topsail Road, Conception Bay South on Friday, October 17th, 2025, at 10:00am. We would also like to thank special nurses in our family and friends who helps support us.
