Leo Wall Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leo Wall, age 72, of Holyrood, announce his peaceful passing on October 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Leo was a kind and hardworking man who was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He possessed a quiet strength, a quick wit, and a deep appreciation for family, camping, and the simple joys of life.

Predeceased by his son, Francis; parents, Cyril and Veronica (née Corbett); sisters, Mary-Silvia and Cecilia; brothers, Francis, Donny, and Cyril Jr.; parents-in-law, John and Kathleen Hynes; brothers-in-law, Bernard, Tom, and Herb; and sister-in-law, Rose.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are his devoted wife of 44 years, Mary (née Hynes); daughters, Christa (Robert) Rowe, Tina, and Holly, who holds a special place in their family. He was a proud grandfather to Kyle (Ally), Kiana, Keegen, and Samuel, and great-grandfather to Grayson and Oaklynn. Leo was immensely proud of his grandchildren — each brought him endless joy and laughter. He loved watching them grow, always cheering on their accomplishments and sharing their stories with pride and affection.

Also left to mourn is his younger brother, Gerard; sisters-in-law, Betty White (Ches), Marg Haines, and Marilyn Hynes (Claude); brother-in-law, Jerry Hynes (Helen); as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Leo will be remembered for his gentle nature, his sense of humour, and his unwavering love for his family. His presence brought warmth and comfort to those around him, and his memory will forever be held close in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Paul Johnston, Dr. Matthew Young, and the nurses and staff at the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and 5 South B of the Health Sciences Centre for their exceptional care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Leo’s memory to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 294 Conception Bay Highway, Holyrood, on November 8th, 2025, from 10am-12noon. Funeral Service to follow at 12:30pm in Hickey’s Funeral Home.
