Angela Kieley Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of Angela Marie Kieley (Ange), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, at 82 years old, following a brief illness.

She is predeceased by her parents, Brian and Rita, her sister Margaret (Peg – Jack Gushue), infant brother Gordon, her parents-in-law, Mike and Margaret Kieley, brother-in-law Raymond Kieley and sister-in-law Patricia Kieley, brother-in-law George Dalton, sister-in-law Rita Dalton. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert (Bob) Kieley, her daughter Laura Leigh, and her son, Roddie (Kim), along with four cherished grandchildren, Julian, Patrick, Benson and Olivia, and the family dog Rosie. She will also be dearly missed by her sisters, Pat (Mike Frampton), Marilyn (Raymond Ryan), Bernadette (Bill Paul) and Eileen; brothers, Tom (Verna) and Brian (Sheila), brother-in-law Jack Gushue. She also leaves behind a beautiful circle of nieces, nephews and friends who loved her as she loved them, especially the monthly rummoli crowd, and members of the Star of the Sea Association of which she was a proud member.

Angela was born October 7th, 1943, in Colliers, Newfoundland. She met her future husband Robert in 1966, and they were married in Colliers on October 5, 1968. They settled in Holyrood, next to Robert’s parents, and raised two children. Angela was tremendously devoted to her family and her community. Through her life, she worked at the US Air Force Base in Labrador, and three establishments in Holyrood: Baxter’s Restaurant, Wong’s Restaurant and the Tea Garden. She always said how much she loved her work with everyone there. She also worked tirelessly for decades as a volunteer at the Star of the Sea Association in Holyrood, for a time on the Executive Committee in charge of catering. You could often find her in the kitchen at the Star – where she was for their last event before she passed, cutting and serving turkey and making sure everyone was well taken care of. She also held a leadership position for a time with the local group of the Girl Guides of Canada, and Scouts Canada, and participated in many Parish and community activities.

She lived her life with a core belief in the importance of family and friends and was happiest in their company.

The family would like to thank the staff in the emergency room at the Health Sciences Center and the staff and doctors on 4 South A for their valiant efforts and excellent care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Breast Cancer Canada https://breastcancer.ca/
