It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leo Francis Crotty, who left this world January 17th, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones. Leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Leo is predeceased by his loving parents, Edward and Theresa Crotty; his brothers Randy, Kevin, and Teddy; and the greatest loss of his life, his heart and soul, his son Mitchell.

Leaving to mourn his passing is his pride and joy, his beloved daughter Christa, who meant everything to him. Leo also shared a very special bond with his son-in-law Mark Greenslade, whom he loved and respected and his beautiful daughter in law Stacey Crotty.

Also leaving to mourn are Leo’s siblings; Pat Crotty (Lorraine) Johnny Crotty (Marilyn) Gary Crotty (Ruth), Lynn Crotty, Debbie Best (Tony), Paula Crotty (Mike), Teresa Murphy (Brian), Connie Crotty (Satch), Barbie Phillips (Dave). And a large circle of nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Leo was a devoted grandfather to Landon, Sadie, Cam, and Lainey Lee, whom he adored. Being their pop was one of his greatest joys, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Leo was a special kind of soul. He had a quick wit, an incredible sense of humour, and a personality that could light up any room. He could make anyone laugh, often without trying. At the same time, he was deeply compassionate, understanding, and always willing to listen. Leo had a rare gift for making people feel heard and cared for.

He was a lifetime friend to so many, forming bonds that lasted decades. His loyalty and genuine nature made him someone people gravitated toward and never forgot. There are too many to mention, but those that were close with Leo through his lifetime know who you are.

Leo’s absence will be felt deeply by all who knew and loved him, but his spirit will live on through the countless stories, laughs, and memories he leaves behind. He will be forever missed and always loved.

Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, on Tuesday, January 20th, 2026, from 1pm - 7pm. Funeral Service in All Saint's Anglican Church on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 at 11am. Interment to follow in the Roman Catholic Cemetery Topsail.
