We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Martha Butler (Rideout) at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, with her two daughters by her side, on January 28th, 2026, age 90 years.

Predeceased by husband: Robert L. Butler (2000), her parents: William and Mary Rideout, parents-in-law: Charles Garland and Beatrice May Butler and brother: Leonard Rideout. Also, a special friend:  Raymond Warford.

Leaving to mourn with loving memories, daughters: Gail and Michele (David) and special fur baby: Ginny (Nanny’s little buddy). Also, leaving to mourn sisters: Jean Boggan (Tom), Rachel Petten, Ella Abbott (Cyril), Louise Lear, Marjorie Gorman (Don), brothers: Arthur Rideout (Rita), Andrew Rideout (Genevieve). Martha will also be lovingly remembered by her large circle of nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Special thanks to care givers: Judy MacDonald and Audrey Lundrigan, who also became family. Thank you to the doctors and nurses of 7 East, St Clare’s. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, on Friday, January 30th, 2026, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Funeral Service will take place in All Saints Anglican Church on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, at 2:00pm. Interment in All Saints Anglican Cemetery, Dunns Hill Road, Foxtrap.
