It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald Francis Dawe in his 83rd year, who passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Centre in the presence of his loving family on Friday, January 30th, 2026.

Gerald was predeceased by his parents, James and Cecilia, brothers, Jim (Jr.), David, brothers-in-law, Sam Dawe and Terrance Nugent, niece, Tracy Pittman, parents-in-law, Michael and Marjorie Hawco and sister-in-law, Rosanne Hawco.

Left to mourn his passing are his devoted wife of 57 years, Marie; his daughters, Corinna and Kellianne, son, Bradley (Nikki); grandchildren, Samantha (Marlon), Jarrett (Lily), Victoria, Reanna (Dan), Seryna, Brady, Mackenzie and great-grandchild Theodore. Also left to mourn are sisters, Bernice Dawe, Josephine Nugent and brother Donald Dawe; brothers-in-law, Phil (Anna) and Michael Hawco; along with many nephews, nieces, relatives, and cherished friends.

The family wishes to send a very special thank you to the staff at the Health Sciences Geriatrics Centre for their care, comfort and compassion during his stay, especially in his final days.

At Gerald’s request, cremation has taken place. Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, on Thursday, February 5th, 2026, from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Funeral Service in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel on Friday, February 6th, 2026, at 11:30am.
