Gordon Morgan Obituary

Passed peacefully away at the Palliative Care Unit, L.A Miller Centre on February 17th, 2026, age 92 years. Gordon was a long-term employee of the Newfoundland Light and Power. He was a member of the Loyal Orange Association and Royal Black Preceptory. Also, Gordon was a Grand Lecturer at both the Most and Right Worshipful Grand Orange Lodges and to many he was referred to as the “master” of the lecturers. During his employment, Gordon rowed in the Royal St. John’s Regatta and won two championship medals in 1966 and 1969.  He will be remembered for his devotion to community. Gordon is predeceased by members of the Morgan family. Left with a wealth of precious memories, his loving wife of 64 years: Beulah (Porter), his children: Renee Coates (David), Rosalind Morgan (Marie), Russell Morgan (Jody), precious grandchildren: Jessica Lear, Justin Lear, Peter Coates (Melissa), Jennifer Morgan (Kayleigh), Shane Morgan, great grandchild: Hayden Cashin, brother: Bob Morgan (Janis). Also survived by nieces, nephews, and a large circle of extended family and friends. Special thank you to the community care nurse: Trina, home care worker: Matt, and the medical nursing and support staff of the Palliative Care Unit, L.A Miller Centre for your kindness, compassion and empathy.


Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, on Friday, February 20th, 2026, from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Funeral Service in St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies, on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at 1:30pm. Interment to follow in the Anglican Cemetery, Upper Gullies.
