It is with broken hearts that we announce the unexpected but very peaceful passing of Connie Thorne, surrounded by her loving family at the HSC on Monday, February 16, 2026, at the age of 69.

Connie is pre-deceased by her parents George and Anne Power, sister Patricia, brother John and her precious dog OJ.

Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of precious memories, her loving husband Clarence; sons Jamie (Mickie), Danny and Tom; grandchildren Olivia, Ella, Dashel and Kingston. Sisters Geraldine Flewelling (Doug), Sheila Barrett (Don), Judy Hurley and Janice Monahan (Shawn). Brothers George (Elizabeth), Randy, Sid and Ron. A large circle of nieces, nephews and extended members of the Thorne and Power families and many special friends.

Connie was employed with Bell Aliant for 32 years. It was there she met Clar, her husband of 38 years and made many lifelong friends. Apparently, she was the event fundraiser and was very persuasive at getting her co-workers to buy tickets. Many referred to her as the “Ticket Lady”. 

Connie was a kind and loving person with a very big heart, always there to help others in need. She will be sadly missed by the family and so many others who have cherished memories of her.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate ICU staff who provided excellent care for Connie.

As per Connie ‘s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 12 PM to 4 PM on Saturday, February 21st, 2026, at Hickey's Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South. 

 Funeral Service will take place at Faith Pentecostal Church, 36 Foxtrap Access Rd, CBS on Thursday, February 26th, 2026 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Connie's memory may be made to the SPCA.
