It’s with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mom Phyllis Reid aged 78 of Conception Bay South at the Health Sciences Centre surrounded by her loving family.

She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Ed, her parents John and Kathleen Mercer, her brothers Jack and Bernard Mercer, parent’s in-law Arthur and Frances (Reid) Carter and brother in-law Alfred Reid.

Leaving to mourn is her daughter Christine (Shenstone), sons Edmund (Colleen), Corey (Sherry), Trevor (Susan), her pride and joy, her grand children Timothy (Heather), Brady, Corey Jr (Britney), Samantha (Tyler), Connor, Trevor Jr, Nicholas, Nevaeh, Joey and Saffron, and great-grandchildren Spencer, Thomas, Ethan, Myah, Ophelia, brother in law Arthur Reid (Joan), sister-in-law Judy Reid (Alfred Reid), sister in law Linda Carter-Andrews and brother in law George Carter (Paula) as well as several other family and friends and her dear friend Michelle Porter.

Phyllis was a dedicated member of the SUF Ladies Council Topsail. She was a gentle soul dearly loved by all. She loved a game of cards, especially Rummoli and always game for a bit of fun.

Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026 from 3:00pm – 7:00pm. Funeral Service in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel on Thursday, March 26th, 2026 at 11:00am. Interment to follow in Topsail Anglican Cemetery.

She will be loved and missed dearly by all.
