It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of Edward Neville Waugh of Kelligrews, NL, on April 17, 2026 at the age of 86 years. Neville passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Lovingly remembered by wife of 60 years, Genevieve, children: Catherine (Kamal), Jeff (Danielle), Joanne (Rob) and grandchildren: Rohan, Kiran, Asha, Parker and  Olivia.  Neville will also be missed by his brother Peter (Dorothy), nieces Julia and Karen of Scarborough, England; as well as numerous friends and family. Neville was predeceased by his parents: Edward Jeffrey and Mary Waugh and his daughter Margaret Susan Waugh. 

Neville was born in Whitehaven, Cumbria, UK in 1940 to Edward and Mary Waugh. He was educated by the Masonic Brothers at Bushey, Hertfordshire after the sudden passing of his father at a young age. Neville’s early career was as a Merchant Marine Engineer, and he often spoke of his adventures sailing the world. His life’s course dramatically altered when his ship docked in Corner Brook, NL where he met the love of his life, Genevieve. They married in Carlisle, England on April 23, 1966.  Neville and Genevieve emigrated to Newfoundland and Labrador in 1970, settling in Kelligrews to raise their family. Neville worked for 30 years as a Machinist/Millwright instructor at the College of Trades and Technology.  He thoroughly enjoyed teaching and passing on his trade skills to his many students. 

Many thanks to Dr. Martin Hurley, Dr. Jamie Farrell, and Dr.Rick Bhatia for their astounding care, kindness, comfort and empathy throughout Dad’s care.  We are especially grateful to Dr. Cheryl Hurley and the wonderful staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the LA Miller Centre who made Dad’s final days peaceful and comfortable.

Visitation in Hickey's Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 from 10:00am - 1:00pm. Funeral Service in Hickey's Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, April 22nd, 2026 at 1:30pm. Interment to follow in St. Edward's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Kelligrews. 

Edward Neville Waugh was truly an officer and a gentleman.
