It is with sadness and gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the peaceful passing of John Mason of Avondale on Tuesday June 2nd, 2026 at the age of 92.

John is now reunited with the love of his life Rose,who passed away 6 short months ago.  He is pre-deceased by his parents, John & Mariah Mason; sisters,Marie Donaldson (Frank), Mary Reelis, Betty Mason (Tom Connors); and his brother Leo.

John leaves with a lifetime of memories his brothers;Ben (Randee) and Vince, his many nieces and nephews; especially Rose’s niece Mary Rowe and her husband Andy who selflessly cared for him. Leaving to celebrate his life are his long time friends in Avondale and friends & staff at Admiral’s Coast Retirement Home.

As per his request, there will be no viewing.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Assumption Church in Avondale on Saturday June 6th, 2026 at 11:00AM immediately followed by inurnment at Assumption Cemetery.  A reception to celebrate and remember John will be hosted after the burial at the Avondale Railway Museum.
