Bobby Dawe as known to many, passed away peacefully surrounded by his wife: Millicent, son: Gary, and daughter-in-law: Audrey. He lived every day of his 98 years to it’s fullest doing whatever he chose to do. With only grade 2 he ended up being a mechanic and in 1960 he opened his own garage until he retired at the age of 65. This business is still up and running by his son Gary who started work there at age 17. Bobby was a real inventor, building track ATV machines, log splitters, back-hoe and many more projects, such as trying to build a helicopter. Back in the late 60’s, he survived a plane crash on Merasheen Island. He always said that hard work never hurt anyone, what hurt them was no work.

He is now reunited with his parents: George and Nellie Dawe, parents-in-law: Alex and Maude Baird, and his siblings: Don (Stella Dawe), Warren (Emily Dawe). He leaves to mourn, wife: Millicent (Married for 75 years), children: Gary (Audrey), George (Rosalind), Terry (Mary), Janice (Roger Peach), 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, sister: Pauline (Gordon Cable).

Visitation in Hickey’s Funeral Home, 570 Conception Bay Highway, Conception Bay South, on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2026, and Wednesday, June 24th, 2026, from 2:00pm – 4:00pm and 7:00pm – 9:00pm. Funeral Service in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel on Thursday, June 25th, 2026, at 11:00am. Interment to follow in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Upper Gullies. Donations may be made to the Janeway.
