Obituary of Clyde Reginald Petten

PETTEN, Reginald Clyde On July 20, 2012 just as quietly as he lived his life, Clyde was embraced by the arms of the Lord at St. Patrick's Mercy Home, in the presence of his family. Formerly of Gambo and Kelligrews, Clyde reached the age of 84 years and leaves a legacy of kindness, wit, wisdom and gentleness of sprit to live on in our hearts. Clyde was predeceased by his parents Robert S. (Bobby Sam) and Gertrude (Ellsworth) Petten, his wife Gloria (Smith) Petten, brothers Clifford and Russell and by brother-in-law Charles Bursey. He leaves to mourn his devoted wife Joyce, loving daughter Bonnie Petten, stepchildren Patsy Jefford (Lloyd), Jackie Tilley (Gary), Tony Dawe (Sue deceased), Wayne Dawe (Betty), Rick Dawe (Renee), sister Maxine Bursey (Charles deceased), brother Frank (Elaine) and their families. The family will be receiving visitors at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Saturday 7 - 9 pm, Sunday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm, with a service of celebration of Clyde's life in All Saints Anglican Church, Foxtrap on Monday July 23, at 11:00 am with final resting place at All saints Anglican Cemetery, Dunn's Hill Road, Foxtrap. Anyone wishing to honor Clyde's life may do so by donations to All Saints Anglican Church Restoration Fund.
