Mr.LeDrew and Family, I remember knocking on your Mother`s door many ,many years ago,"Come in my dear ,come in" she said. I have to admit ,I was very nervous at first, as I was there to care for your late Father...Your parents welcomed me into there home. Not as a Homecare worker ,but as a friend. Mr.& Mrs. LeDrew come into my thoughts often... Your Mother reminding me to always heat up the china cup before pouring your Father`s tea .And your Mother, well there was no such thing as me brown bagging my lunch, there was always plenty. As well as her pickles. It was an honor to have had meet your Parents.Wonderful, wonderful people. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers at this time and always... God Bless Sandy Clancey

Grace (Hiscock) and Harold Hollett posted a condolence

Hello Ralph, Ruby and family, Please accept our condolences on the death of Grace, one of the last of that generation of Flat Islanders. I knew her as a first cousin of my father Will, Anunt Mim and Aunt Grace. I remember the many times my sister Ruth and I visited her along with Aunt Mim when we were staying at Bishop Jones' Hostel. She and your father Ralph were always so cheerful and chatty, full of life and welcoming. We are sorry that we are unable to attend Grace's funeral but since our daughter-in-law, Sandra Tilley,(wife of our son Ken Hollett) died on Dec. 27th we have been quite involved with their two young children and I promised them that I would attend their school field trip on Tuesday. Grace (Hiscock) and Harold Hollett

To Ralph, Ruby and family: The "girls" of Bishop Jones Hostel and Bishop Spencer Lodge wish to extend condolences to you and your family. Grace was a resident of Bishop Spencer Lodge from 1928 to 1931 as a student of Bishop Spencer College and Normal School, the later of which was while she studied teacher's training. Your mother was among the class of women who made a great difference in their communities through education, community and religious service and volunteerism, as as such were valuable members of our society. We are proud to count her as one of our "own". May God Bless you as you deal with her loss in the days ahead. from the "girls" of the Bishop Jones Memorial Hostel Group.
