Obituary of Herbert Clayton Smith

Smith, Herbert Clayton It is with deep sadness the family of Herbert Clayton Smith of Manuels announce his passing on March 5,2010 at the Palliative Care Unit in St.John's. He was in his 79th year. Pre-deceased by his parents Edward & Violet Smith, brother Edward and son-in-law Joseph Kieley. Leaving to mourn is his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Helen; five children Dianne Kieley of Holyrood, David (Catherine) of British Columbia, Ruth Corbett (Frank) of Wabush, Catherine Miller (Don) of Portugal Cove/ St.Philips and Violet Brophy (Doug) of Holyrood; 14 grandchildren: Allison, Mark, Christopher, Tracy, Adam, Melanie, Matthew, Stephanie, Jessica, Elizabeth, Clay, Katie, Kurtis and Mitchell; 7 great-grandchildren; brother William of Nova Scotia and sister Violet (Harry) Smith of Ontario; sisters-in-law: Ellaline Smith, Mary Smith, Nora (George) Hutchings, Lucy(John) Nickerson, Mildred Jennings and Jeanette Gleeson; brother-in-law William (Jeanine) Gleeson; nieces , nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Sunday, 2-9pm, Monday, 10-9 pm. Funeral service in All Saint's Anglican Church, Foxtrap on Tuesday, March 9,2010 at 11 am. Internment in the Anglican Cemetery, Dunn's Hill Road,Foxtrap. No flowers by request. Donations may be made in his memory to the Children's Wish Foundation.
