Hello, I am Leo's Daughter Norma Patton (nee Maloney)
Dad, I still miss you today and everyday. It's been 12 1/2 years since you have been gone and not a moment goes by that I regret not talking to you and being upset with you the year before you died.
It really saddened me that your then wife (Gladys) would not include me and my sisters in your obituary as well as our children, your grandchildren who adored you so much. And then to pour more salt in our wounds she had the funeral home remove our condolences from this page. I was so upset when I wasn't told by Gladys that you passed away, but found out from a friend who sent me her condolences through Facebook instead. Gladys didn't even allow me time to come home from Alberta to say good-bye because she had you cremated and your funeral service the very next day after you died. I know this would have never been your wishes Dad. I know that you would have wanted your girls by your side until the end. The thing that haunts me the most is I have never had closure and it continues to break my heart everyday. I think of you so often and cry because I miss my dad so much. You were an amazing Dad that helped Mom raise me to become the woman I am today. You are the reason why I love music so much. You have taught me so much growing up and I will never forget that.
I Love You Dad With All My Heart And Soul and Miss You a Ton. For now you will live in my wonderful memories until I see you again.
Love Always and Forever Your Baby Girl Norma or as you always called me "Stretch"

The last time I was home to see my Dad he took me to a bar where a friend of his was singing. He had her sing the song "Daddy's Girl" .. He got up on stage and sang with her to me .. I was over the moon delighted with his surprise .. I am lucky that I did a video of that night and have it to look back on with a beautiful memory of my Dad

Leo was a great guy. I keep trying to add to that but I have trouble. He was my instructor at Cabot. He was someone I respected and whose opinion and instruction I valued. His passing was a shock to me and I can see by all the other people who wrote that he will be missed terribly.

Gladys & Maloney Family: I was so shocked to receive a message just now from my sister Tina informing me of Leo's untimely passiing. The memories and laughs that we shared over the years with Brian, Linda & Randy. Leo could always be counted on to be a friend no matter what. Gladys I hope that God gives you a strength to get through this terrible time and always remember the wonderful memories that you two shared together. Take care and Leo RIP Jocelyn

Dear Gladys: My sincerest condolences to you and your family on the loss of your dear husband and friend. While I worked with Leo for just a year, it was evident his dedication and commitment were unquestionable. He was a man of great spirit and big heart and as stated in his Obituary he positively touched the lives of so many students throughout his career. His impact is truly unmeasurable. My thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Robin

Gladys & Maloney families: It is with great sadness to hear of Leo's passing. I did my cooking course under Leo's supervision in 1978 at Burin. My husband Jack was a co-worker. I have lots of good memories of Leo during my year as his student. I remember one day a fellow student told him a dirty joke and Leo went to his office scratching & shaking his head while laughing at the same time. He was a very kind & patient person, always there to lend a hand when needed. To Norma, Susan & family: Our condolences to you and your sisters. You were such a big part of Leo's life when he was here in Burin. I remember Leo talking so proudly about his daughter's all the time. He treasure you all. please know we are thinking of you all at this sad time. Jean & Jack

I was shocked and saddened by the news of Leo's sudden passing. I would like to send my deepest sympathies to his family at this time. I met Leo while we were both students attending MUN during the 70's. We became friends, and then later, work collegues. Leo was always enthusiastic in his teaching, and dedicated to ensuring his students were given a unique learning experience. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.
