I have so many memories of you, but my cousin's Jonathan and Ashley's story of the "cow" in your yard reminded me of another type of animal (well poultry lol) you raised on your land.
You had a few turkeys in your yard, that you raised and plan to eat (lol) I remember VIVIDLY visiting these turkeys when I was heavily pregnant with Tyler (17 years ago) I went into the shed with you to see them, and one jumped up on my fat pregnant belly, and all you did was laugh..and said you were going to pee. LOL I didn't find it too funny- at the time because the bugger dug his ugly turkey feet into my belly and flapped his wings in my face..I DID find it HILARIOUS when you said when it was time to butcher the turkey, I could have that one who jumped on me as revenge. You kept your word too..and it was GOOD EATIN' I'll tell ya!
I could sit here all night telling stories about you..but that's the one that I remember most. You, laughing, happy and healthy and full of life. Although, even though at your end as you were sick, you never did fail to to have that amazing sense of humor, and had so much life in you. My dad has that same humor because of you..as long as my dad is alive, you will still be with me and I'm sure forever more.

I've known Olive Mercer for twenty-five years, seventeen of those years as her son-in-law (Wendy's husband). She was a very loving and devoted family woman who very much loved all her children, grand-children, great grand-children, and step-children alike. She always strived to keep in touch with each and every one of them as she was always very concerned about how they were doing in their lives no matter how far away they lived. She always enjoyed having a crowd of family around her all of the time and especially enjoyed special occassion visits from those who lived away. She was always happy and never bitter about anything, and always wore a smile especially when she saw family and friends coming to visit her. She never had much in the way of material possessions but was always willing to share whatever she owned with her family as they were her greatest treasure and her greatest pleasure was having them near. Every one of them was dear and special to her in their own way and she was proud of each one of them. I had the pleasure of knowing her and observing these kind attributes she possessed and shared, as she was indeed a very special lady with a very kind heart. She relished all of the love she received in return and the closeness she felt with them. God Bless you and Keep you Olive as there is a special place in heven reserved just for you. God bless the family who loved her so dearly and take strength in knowing that she will still be watching over her flock from her new home.

It's hard to put in words what I feel...but I will try....She was such a beautiful woman of heart. She truly loved and cared of all. Her Family was precious and she made no bones about it to show that. When I first dated Val I didn't know quite what to make of her as she sort of intimated me and I did my best to make sure Val got home before curfew! But as time went by and myself and her daughter grew closer ( and her extended Family also) I knew that she was special. Need I talk about Sunday dinners?!! Louie made sure a most delicious scoff was there for the family for when they showed up....bolier filled to the rim. Christmas & Birthdays....well, they were very important to her. I think now it`s becasue they were times that she knew her Family would be there and she could relish in everyone`s glee and happiness...turning it into her own. May she rest in peace..God Bless You All

Some of my earliest childhood memories were of my summers spent at Nans house. Feeding her cow Bessie and chasing an escaped rabbit around the yard on the daily basis. I’ll always have those memories and will always cherish them. Although I can’t be there to give my love and support in person my thoughts and prayers are with all the family throughout this difficult time.
