To the Roberts Family: I will always fondly remember Mrs. Roberts for the time that we had long chats in the evenings when I work at Bern and Beverly’s home looking after the boys. I first got to meet her when my father would see fish to Mr. Roberts and to Eddie. Later I would work in the store when Eddie operated it and also when Bern and Bev took it over. Later I was privileged to work in their home. Of course after Mr. Roberts died, Mrs. Roberts moved in to the granny apartment that was built on to Bern and Bev’s home, which not only meant she was living very close to her boys Raymond and Jeffrey, but also to Isobel and Don and the girls. It was very evident that she loved and cared deeply for her family. On many evenings after the boys were settled down for the night and; over a drink of sherry, myself and Mrs. Roberts would have a good yarn about life and many other things. But most of all I will fondly remember the ox tail soup that she made so often, to which the last time I had it was shortly after the birth of my daughter. She called my mom to see if I or Nikki were in need of anything. I answered the phone and I told her that Nikki didn’t need anything but that mommy would certainly like to have a bowl of ox tail soup. Over the years, she took to my family, especially to my big baby brother Jeff, as there would be Sunday nights that I would call home and there would be no answer as both Mom and Jeff were visiting with her. Not only will I miss here but I am certain that they will as well. There is nothing more than I would like do, than to be with you today. You are all in my thoughts today.
