Obituary of Wayne Piccott

Piccott, Wayne - July 7th, 1953 - September 18th, 2019 With his life's journey over and ending his stay, Wayne slipped peacefully into eternal rest. Predeceased by parents James and Phyllis (Kirkland), brother John, nephew David Turner, brother-in-law Don (Geraldine) Turner and Gus Turner. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 37 years Mary (Turner) and cherished daughters Christa (Jason) Dawson and Vanessa (Matt) Foote, precious granddaughters Clara, Beth and Julia. Sister Carol Ann (Ken Guest) and brothers Randy (The Sinnott family), James (Renee), Peter, Eddie, Bradley and Beverley. Special nieces Kelli Turner (Cory, Kayley), Michelle Turner (Bryan, Jaxson), brother in law Andy Turner (Debi, Ashley Kaitlyn), Ed Turner (Pat, Jimmy, Joanne, Christina) and sister in law Betty Turner (Michael, Chris). At Wayne's request cremation has taken place. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday from 7 pm - 9 pm, Friday from 2 pm - 4 pm and 7 pm - 9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place from St. Edward's Church, Kelligrews on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 12 pm. Inurnment in St. Edward's Cemetery, Kelligrews.Thank you to the medical professionals who made the last months of Wayne's life as comfortable as possible, specifically Dr. Garber, Dr. Phillips, Dr. Burrage, community nurses Tina Edwards and Jeanne Keiley and in the last hours, Palliative Care nurses Loretta and Derech who's impact was brief but profound. In Wayne's honour flowers are gratefully accepted or donations can be made in his name to The Newfoundland and Labrador Palliative Care Association or St. Edward's Cemetery Fund as their kindness and compassion helped ease a difficult time.
