To David’s family .. I am so surprised and heart broken to just realize that David has passed away... we started school together way back when from grades 1-6 and then our little class was separated as we went on to the higher grades ...I haven’t seen him much in the last few years but I remember him as a quiet soul with a beautiful smile...so sorry for your loss..

Yes another lovely Hynes gentleman had to leave us too soon. Thinking of all the Hynes families right now as you part with another talented loved one. What a beautiful picture portrayal... It echoes exactly what I saw one day long, long ago in Dave's childhood home... His father David sitting with guitar in hand. Godspeed another beautiful Holyrood soul.
May your song be heard amid choirs of angel tenors !

Phoebe, Morgan, Tom, John, Rod and Sharon,
I am so sorry to hear of David’s passing and offer my deepest sympathy to you all. As a young child my memories of David or Dabo , as we called him, was part of a threesome that travelled together on the back road ...Tommy David and Johnny. As first cousins growing up and living next door to each other, many games were played on the field between our homes. Always challenging ...who could throw the farthest rock in the bay or who’s rock got the most skips. Simple times and fun memories. David’s strength and courage through his illness was admirable.
He will truly be missed and remembered by all the lives he touched.

Phoebe, Morgan and family. I am so sorry for your loss. David was one of the most gentle, smart and kind people I have ever known. We have so many wonderful memories of music and laughter, especially the memorable night on the shed in Holyrood! He will truly be missed and leaves a legacy of strength and empathy. Even in his illness, he displayed a level of grace that many seek. I am so sorry I can’t be there to be with all of you and share a memory or a prayer. Sending my love and prayers from Dubai to all of you. God bless....

Phoebe and Morgan, please accept my condolences in this difficult time. I think the first time I meet David you guys were giving me a ride and instead of giving directions I kept on telling him to drop me by the rhubarb patch (not my finest moment but he was a good sport). Hold each other tight!

My Uncle David meant a lot to me. He taught me many things - both directly and indirectly. Many say his silence, or quiet nature, during conversations and family gatherings was just 'How David is," and that he just doesn't say much. I think he didn't contribute unless he felt it necessary, or could make a valid point/argument. He listened, he observed, he was patient, he was exemplary. I looked up to him.
When I was around 10 he lent me his 1976 MusicMan guitar and Peavey amp when I started expressing an interest in music. The bug officially bit. He showed me some chords and riffs to get me started, and I was in awe at his ability to play songs like 'Johnny B Goode,' 'Norwegian Wood,' and 'Revolution' with ease. It was effortless to him. I marvelled at that. It definitely made me learn more rock'n'roll songs. He had old recording gear and more records than I could count. It clearly had an effect on me as I now own 9 guitars, a few hundred records and a bunch of recording equipment. He helped spark a passion in me that still occupies my life to this day. Thank you, David. Thank you for everything. I love you and i'll miss you dearly.
your nephew,
Jonathan
