I’m Blair’s wife, Betty’s son. I can’t tell you how sorry I am for your loss, for such a great loss. Verna was one of my favourites of Blair’s aunts and truly one of my favourite people. She was so funny and witty, kind and bonkers. She was truly a lovely human and the world is a little less bright without her light in it. Her death is a great tragedy but she gave so much of herself while she was here. Please be proud of the lovely and wonderful person she was. I will miss her dearly and I know I am not the only one.

So shocked & saddened to learn of Verna’s tragic passing.
I first got to know her in the 90s when they pastored in Pt. Leamington where my parents were living.
It was a delight to reconnect with her when she made CBS & Faith her home.
Her infectious laugh, her warm hugs & genuine heart have had a positive influence in my life.
Praying for the peace & strength of God to be with you all as you learn how to go on without such an important person in your lives.

We were deeply saddened to hear of Verna’s sudden passing. We had such memorable and beautiful times with “Nanny Warr” on staff, at camp, and in many visits over the years. She will be sorely missed. We know these past days have been incredibly difficult for you all, but we do have great assurance from God’s Word that although we walk through “the valley of the shadow of death” God has not left us alone. We are praying that God’s indescribable presence and His deep comfort will be yours. Please be assured of our love, thoughts, and prayers.

Roxanne, James and the rest of your families, I was deeply saddened to learn your Mom had passed away. Sadly, I usually look at the obituaries daily, and came across your Mom’s. I remember for many years working together, hearing you speak of her often, it was very obvious from what I heard from you - just what a special Mom and grandmother to James she truly was. Roxanne - you are all in my thoughts and prayers as you reminisce about the many wonderful memories you all shared as a family. Much love, my friend - Marilyn xo

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Verna. She was such a happy, vibrant person. We both have fond memories of Aunt Verna. A vision of her wearing a white apron when we visited her one summer in the kitchen at camp in Lewisporte where she cooked for many comes to mind. We were thankful to have seen her one last time on a visit home several months ago.

My condolences to all. In the sixties when Sterling and Verna came to live with us in Nova Scotia, Dean was just a baby then. I remember mom being so happy to have her first grandchild and family home again. Vern and I spent many hours cleaning and stripping floors of old wax and rewaxing again and how much we laughed and bonded in those years., not realizing then that we were building future memories of a moment in time that is no more. Thank you Verna, a tribute to all those memories we shared over the past.. love you dearly and you will be missed.

Words cannot say how sorry we were to receive this news. We loved your Mother dearly as we do all of you. Your family have been special to us since we met when your Father became our co-pastor in Springdale forty years ago. We wish we could do something to ease your pain, but can only assure you of our prayers. After her visit to camp this summer, she stayed around a few days and visited all of her friends. Looking back now I believe this was meant to be. We had a beautiful visit with her not realizing it would be our last on this earth. We ask God to strengthen and comfort you. We send our deep sympathy to Wayne and family as well. We were so happy when they married and commented many times that Verna was "having the time of her life" doing the things she loved to do. Thank you , Wayne for making it possible. God bless you all.

On Friday your world was rocked by the sudden passing of your beautiful mother, wife and grandmother. I can only imagine how difficult it is right now trying to understand and walk though this valley of grief. Mom Warr was a godly woman who influenced the lives of so many people. There was never a doubt in her mind who she loved: God first, her family, her friends and whoever was close to her, this even included her fur-babies. :) She spoke out loud what was exactly on her heart and she wasn’t bashful about letting others know about the love of God. A love that she revelled in greatly.
She will always have a special place in my heart, she treated me like family and loved my family the same.
My prayer for you today is that you will gather strength from the big God she served to help you through this difficult time. For all those who knew her, cherish the wonderful memories, her smile... and her laughter. She will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
Much Love,
