My condolences to the Bailey family. I consider myself fortunate to have called Old Man Bailey a friend and to have shared so many good memories on our trapshooting trips, salmon fishing on the Lomond, at the rod and gun club or out for a mid-week lunch. Won’t be the same without Paul around but will cherish the memories. Going to miss the old fella.

Marie and I offer our condolences to Paul’s family. Paul was a great friend and we had many chats and laughs at the Rod and Gun Club. He was also a great roommate on our many trapshooting trips. We had a memorable trip to Florida in March and he shot 85/100! A couple of weeks ago he called to say a trip to Labrador was planned and there may be spot for another man if I’d like to go. While I didn’t make the trip with OMB, I have great memories of all the trips we did take. I was sad to hear of his passing, but I do know that he died doing what he enjoyed and he probably wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. I will certainly miss him.

My condolences to his family and friends. While I never had the honour of meeting him, I did share his love of Masonry. Stories about him were many, and all were admirable of his humanity. As a Brother he lived a life of service to all, including service to his country. He was kind and generous to all: setting a wonderful example to follow. His presence among us will be missed.

The morning of July 12, 2020 for those of us who had the privilege to have known Paul was truly a sad day. He was such a wonderful human being. Paul always did and always will bring a smile to our faces. I have memories of salmon fishing trips with Paul that I will always carry with me. Paul loved Salmon fishing as we all know, but to me his biggest love was his family and friends which I know he cherished so. Both myself and my wife are saddened by his sudden passing. But in closing I know that he did get that “one more trip in” and that he was doing what he loved Salmon fishing with friends. To his wife and family I would like to extend heart felt sympathies from both of us. And to my friend Paul. “ Thank you , it was a pleasure and an honour to have known you, ( tight lines my friend).
Ed and Marilyn Williams.

Yvonne and family, I was so sad to hear of Paul’s passing. Any day that I got to listen to him share a story or just have a chat, was always the best day of the week! I loved discussing fishing, shooting, curling and family with Paul. I remember at our meeting last month that he was so looking forward to this next fishing trip. I hope that you find comfort in his life well lived, and know that he was loved by many people (like me!) who he shared his joy with.

Mrs. Bailey and family, we have both been saddened by Mr. Baileys passing and will certainly miss his presence around the yard -having been neighbours for the past 20 we’ve enjoyed Mr. Bailey’s warm ,kind ,welcoming demeanour, his enthusiasm for life and his incredible recollections of his life experiences . Incredible that at this point in life he was still living life to the fullest right up to his last moments - can’t help but think that if he could comment on his passing he would say “ I did it my way”. Sorry for your loss and we hope knowing others care will help you through this difficult time .

I only met Mr. Bailey on the last full day of his life. I was in a boat with my friend Dave Fong, fishing the same salmon pool with Mr. Bailey, but from the opposite side. He cheered our successes with hand gestures and smiles. We were glad to introduce ourselves at days end, and pass a few minutes chatting about our successes and missed opportunists from the day's angling efforts. We traded fishing flies; we promised to see him on the same pool next day; and we all anticipated catching 'the big one'. It was obvious that he was very happy to be there on that pool, and to interact with fellow anglers.
When we returned the following morning near 6 AM, he had just passed. What a wonderful place it was to spend one's last minutes on earth … standing on a sandy beach adjacent a magical salmon river on a sunny Labrador morning.
My sympathies to Jeff and Candy, and to all family members.

Our condolences to Yvonne and family. It was sad to hear of Paul's passing on Sunday. Our Westport connection kept us in touch down through the years. I have many great memories of sailing together on the DFO vessels out of Halifax. Paul's quick wit, practical jokes and good humor always kept moral up. It was great to have a ÿarn" with Paul on the phone and catch up on the news or exchange jokes on line. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace my friend.

Sorry to hear of Paul's passing. Paul and Dad were great friend and he spent many days on the "Brier Patch" fishing at SW Ledge , they were also hunting buddies with trips to Gull Rock duck hunting and goose hunting trips to P.E.I. with Myron. It was great spending time with Paul last summer at Mom's house talking about old times.
My condolences to you Yvonne and your family, may Paul's legacy live on.

I would like to start by offering my most heart felt condolences. I was fortunate enough to meet and get to know old man Bailey through Andrea and Troy at the Canadian Trapshooting championships over the last few years.
I always enjoyed speaking with him and will miss him. A quick memory I would share is that while at the 2017 Canadians in Edmonton, a nice young lady approached me and asked if I knew where she could find Paul Bailey, I pointed to him a little ways over. She then told me she was his grand daughter and he was about to meet some of his great grandchildren for the first time (I hope I've recalled correctly) a prouder happier looking man there was not.
Rest in peace Old Man Bailey.

Andrea sent a message to me today about Paul's passing. As his obituary reads he was a real gentleman. Paul and I had a lot in common since we were both born in NS; both did time in the Armed Forces as well as with DFO. I only had the opportunity to shoot the bull and trap with Paul at the annual Atlantic Trap Championships but always looked forward to seeing him each year.
He could tell a great joke as well as a great story. Paul will be missed.
