Just got news of Gail's passing and wanted to pass on condolences to the Curnew family. We all have many wonderful memories of the big gang growing up together in the Gullies. I remember us all hanging out at Fillier's store for hours (where Gail often worked while going to high school). So sorry to hear this news.....RIP

So, so sad to hear this today. I met Gail about 25 years ago when we rented the apartment from her and Jim. I spent countless hours up on their patio or in their kitchen having a freshly brewed coffee while Jessie, Samantha and Shannon ran amok. Gail was always a very matter-of-fact type person who didn't tolerate bs very well and said it like it was. I admired her for that. She was always so loving and attentive to her girls and we went on more than one afternoon excursion with them to the nearby beach or over to McDonalds to sit outside (Back when they had the bistro tables Outside.) We spent more than one evening out by the fire pit having a grand ol yarn. We moved away from the province and once when I came home for a visit I went to visit Gail to tell her I was having a baby boy. She asked me what I was gonna call him, I told her”Logan” her exact words were, you’re gonna name him after a rubber boot!?” I laughed and said, “I’m not now”! I never forgot that and it always makes me laugh whenever I think of that story when my’s son’s name comes up and how he was almost Logan and not Colton. He’s grateful for Gail’s input too for the record. Lol My deepest condolences to you Jim, Samantha, & Shannon. She will be missed by many more than us I am sure of that. Xoxo

Gail.and I meet in 1980 while working as hairdressers at Adam and Eve in the Village Mall. . We became close friends and shared an apartment for many years. She was at my wedding ,I was at hers. Her Samantha was born weeks after my first born. We shared so much. The memories are many. Over 40 years of friendship. My heart is broken here in Boom Siding, the last place I physically saw Gail. She was a friend. She was a true friend. If only everyone had one friend they could call a true friend the world would be a better place. Rest easy Gail. I will never forget you. NEVER. Jim, Samantha and Shannon. Sorry to hear about Gail's passing, your mom was one of the most open minded person I ever met and got to know over the past three years. Her heart was big and she always worried about you dearly even if you went out for ice cream. Gail welcomed everyone into your home with open arms and she would always listen and give advice when need be.
