To Jeanette and Stephen and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Mabel was my head nurse on obstetrics when I was a young 19 year old new graduate. . She was always the professional but had such a warm and nurturing way about her. Her staff were her girls . She loved turrs and I would often bring them in to her from my trips around the bay. I would look forward to seeing her at the Alumni dinners and was so sorry to hear of her passing at this years dinner. May she rest in peace.

I have known your mom since her student days at the Grace and we worked together for many years and became good friends. A friendship that lasted a lifetime. Stephen and Jeanette I want to say how sorry I am to hear of your mom's passing. I was a good friend of your aunt Pat in Clarenville and got to know your mom while Pat was ill. We kept in contact over the years and your mom was certainly there for me when I was ill a couple of years ago. When she visited me in hospital and then when we talked often on the phone she spoke of you guys lovingly and always kept me up on what her beautiful grandchildren were up to and what she would do with them when they were having sleepovers. We shared many memories and tears about your aunt Pat and many of these came back to me when I got David's message on Sunday. I share your sadness and loss but I know that your mom and your Aunt Pat are now sharing stories about all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with you all and if it were not for ths virus I would have come to visit during this difficult time. Take care and treasure those wonderful memories.

Like many other Grace nursing students, I remember Mabel's kindness, patience and expert guidance during my Obstetrical affiliation.Her smile was warm and reassuring in those times when I felt uncertain. She was a professional nurse to the core with a compassionate heart and caring presence. After graduation, our paths crossed only a few times but that warm smile and genuine presence still held its magic. Mabel's compassion and competence made it possible for me and many others to be successful registered nurses. She was an exemplary role model for so many. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a quiet and gentle soul. She was my supervisor at the Grace. I remember making a minor error and having to go see her. Emma called me this am to tell me your Mom had passed, but even though I expected it ,it still gave me a pain in my stomach!!
We were Nursing Sisters and good friends for over 50 years and I and all of Our Classmates are going to miss her very much!! Her and I had our full career at The Grace and she was very respected and loved by all her Staff and Co Workers!!
