It was only last week, listening to Magic Carpet Ride, that I thought about Bob and the priceless times we had playing clubs 30 years ago. What a musician and what a man! Just heard the sad news yesterday of Bob's passing and his battle with cancer and would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to his immediate family and the Parson's family. I am shocked and truly saddened on learning of Bob's passing. We shared some
great times and wonderful laughs. Bob was really special to all who knew him.
He had a wonderful smile and great love for his family and friends. He cracked me up that time he told me how his name spelled backwards, sounded; "Trebor Snosrap" ! Bob was one of a kind for sure. We all Loved him as he did in return.

When I moved here a few years ago, I was looking for a new watering hole. I visited the Megle and met Bob, we soon struck up a friendship over a few beers and talk of motorcycles. Oh Bob, where to begin. Firstly, i was saddened to hear the news of your passing.
As a young boy growing up in Seal Cove and a neighbor of Bob's i have so many great memories.
I was lucky enough to have been a passenger on his bus for many years, he drove the fastest, played the loudest and best music and when we were being brats, he would slam on the brakes and send us flying around the bus, we deserved it, and he caught our attention, so we would then settle down.
Bob was always happy and treated me like his own son, he welcomed me into his home and taught me how to build models, which i still do to this day.
If he saw me walking up the shore, he would pull over on his bike and give me a ride home on the most beautiful Virago on the island, he drove it fast and was so happy on it. I remember him having the bike in his living room, decorated as his Christmas tree many many years ago.
Bob's love for music was something else, it was always a great time watching and listening to him and the band play.
Rest in piece Bob. Play loud and drive fast my old friend.

To the Parsons family...we were sadden to hear of Bobs passing - my memory of him was the smile, the long hair, the music playing and him singing and popping away to whatever was playing on the bus radio - that in itself was amazing to have a radio on the bus - it made going to school fun !!!! I was never a club goer but the few times I heard him play with the brothers I was in awe - amazing talent. Rick, Scott, Terry and all the Parsons family, please accept my sincerest, heartfelt condolences on Bobs passing.
I have many wonderful memories of Bob that I now hold very dear. Camping as a child, I would always love when Rick would take out his guitar and play songs around the camp fire. That is where and when my interest in playing guitar started …….and of course, my love for Neil Diamond songs. I was then lucky enough to get guitar lessons from Bob.
I can still picture us sitting and playing a Tom Petty song....a good beginner song, nice and calm. When it would get to the lead break, that's when Bob's passion for playing would show through. He would go into that lead break, get on his feet and play so much passion, leaving this little beginner just sitting and watching with such awe. When finished, he would apologize for getting "too into the song" and we would go back to the lesson..... until the next lead break.
May the many wonderful memories of Bob help all those mourning his loss and provide strength through this difficult time. God Bless.

Our hearts are broken to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a wonderful man who held a special part in our hearts. Whether we would see him out playing with the band or if it was in the shop, he would always stop for a hug, a chat and most importantly, a few chuckles. He was a “salt of the earth” man who would do anything for anyone, especially his “Precious”. His love for his Family and friends knew no measure. I’ve known Bob for basically my whole life. He was my bus driver all through my school life, and was he ever the cool driver always singing to the radio. My sister and brother in law Annette and Dwayne Lawrence managed the club for a few years as well, so I knew him then too. Bob was that type of guy you could never forget. He always had that smile on his face. Always had a hello how are ya for everyone. No matter where ya saw him he took the time to say hello and wave. My condolences to Bob's family, he was an awesome guy, always smiling , such an amazing person to be around. My memory of him was when i was in high school and he was my bus driver. At the time i lived at the end of what was Dawe's Road in Long Pond. Every school day, Bob would stop the bus next to my house at the end of the street if i wasn't out waiting to see if my mother would be in the window waving him on cause i wasn't going to school or to hang on cause i was on my way out, he always waited. Back then he had long hair which i thought was cool. I will always remember his smile.

RIP Bob. He was my school bus driver for a good few years and had THE coolest bus: 6 or 8 speakers front to back (if I recall correctly) and OZ-FM on bust! We rocked our way to and from school every day. Most days it was the best part of my school day.

Deeply saddened & sorry to hear of Bob’s passing.
I first knew Bob as my Jr high bus driver & I always thought of him like Otto from the Simpsons...a very friendly & cheerful rockstar personality! I can still picture him bopping his head to Aerosmith on the radio while playing drums on the steering wheel. Then later on I came to know him from Meigle happy hours where he was always still happy & friendly. Bob never failed to say hi & have time for a brief motorcycle chat....& also always made sure he fulfilled my Bob Seger request (even though it was the same song every time).

Bob was one of my first bus drivers when I started school. I wasn't used to the new routine and forgot my stop one day. When he got back to the station, he found a scared and timid 5-year-old on his bus. He could have called the school, the parents... but he brought me, in his own vehicle, straight to my Mom and had a good laugh and chat with her. He had a truly kind nature and a laugh and smile for everyone he met.
