So sorry to hear of Velma’s passing. She was the sweetest person!
I would always get a kiss and a squeeze when she would meet me at the supermarket. Mom loved going trouting with her and Donna and she’s going to miss her terribly. I shared a story on Sheila’s post about Mom and Velma fishing together. Mom told me that while she was trouting with Velma and Donna one day mom got tired of trouting so she lay back on the grass relaxing. She took a straw if grass and put it between her hands and blew, making a screeching sound. She frightened the life out of Velma! She almost jumped in the pond. Mom said she cursed and even kicked mom in the ribs!! Lolol Mom was cracking up telling me. She is going to miss her good friend.
You guys had a great mom and I’m sure the good memories you have will help you get through the days ahead

I will always remember Valma, and I will always remember her as when I first met her - the sweetest, fiercest, biggest-hearted woman in all Newfoundland.
