I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. LeDrew’s passing. What a beautiful classy lady inside and out. I have such wonderful memories of when Mom use to go camping with her at Pippy Park. We use to have such laughs. She’d always say how she was a girl from Long Pond married a man from Kelligrews and Mom a girl from Kelligrews married a man from Long Pond. They would reminisce and always had a lot of fun together and enjoyed many games of cards. In latter years I would enjoy seeing her in Church. As soon as she heard my voice she would say my name and say “I know Joanie’s girl”. That always filled my heart, I’d hug her and I can hear her laugh now. Cherished Memories I will never forget. I find comfort in knowing that her and Mom can visit each other again. Of course she was very independent but boasted how her family took great care of her. She certainly was right about that! I know you will miss her. May all your wonderful memories of her bring you comfort at this time. Thoughts and prayers to all of Mrs. LeDrews family and friends. We were so saddened to hear of Ruby’s passing. How does one put into words how remarkable of a woman she was? From a young age operating her shop in Long Pond to delivering lumber once she was married to providing a wonderful life full of memories for her precious family. She tackled life with such passion and perseverance. When her sight started to go and then through the years, she never had a complaint. She lived each day full of gratitude and gratefulness for everything she had. We all have many fond memories of her, our first and foremost was always seeing her in the back pew at church with her beautiful hats on. We also were so fortunate to have gotten to know her through our business, she would always stop in to get a few goodies and we would love to have a chat and a few laughs. As time went on and Ruby wasn’t going out as much, Mom would always look forward to her special visits at her home with her. There were always many laughs included in those times as well. Memories now that mom will forever cherish. Also, we can’t forget to mention how she spoiled us all with her bread making. Every time Paul would drop it off, it was always a guessing game to see if we were getting plain or raisin! Of course, the raisin was for her boyfriend, Dad and she made sure to let us know! We, as a family, were also very privileged to have gotten to spend a few special visits with her. One in particular being of her scolding us to sit down and eat our supper instead of admiring the portraits of her because supper was getting cold, it was the quickest time we ever sat to a table! It’s these special and precious memories that we will forever hold dear in our hearts. As mentioned above, she was absolutely remarkable and will still be alongside you everyday. We are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers and praying for strength for you to face the days ahead.

Anne, Paul and Peter,
Your mom will be missed. She was such a pleasant and positive person and always had a smile. I always felt better after seeing her. She had a great attitude which was infectious. Our moms were friends for years, I think, starting in the Girl Guides or as teenagers when they each had small stores in Foxtrap and Long Pond.
They had many impromptu trips in the motor home. I remember a call from my mom to say I wouldn't reach her because they had decided to drive to Port aux Basques for a wedding. There was always laughter and many stories on their return. I am sure there will be laughter when they meet again.
It was important to your mom that she was able to live at home and a credit to you that she was able to do that. You will miss her but be comforted by her 94 well lived years and all those memories.
I will miss our visits.

Sending my sincere condolences to all of aunt Ruby's family. I had the privilege and pleasure these last few years to help aunt Ruby. I loved sitting at her kitchen table listening to her stories from the past especially about when she had her little shop. Aunt Ruby loved her family dearly. She was one of the most generous, kind hearted, loving, and above all independent woman I had the privilege of calling my aunt. So very sorry to hear about the passing of a wonderful mom and grandmother. I have many precious memories of days spent with you all and how caring and kind hearted she was to all. She loved to laugh and tell stories and always enjoyed life. She was so independent even when her sight was gradually going she would not give up always inspiring someone else. Grace would love our rides home from church and her little stories about skating and her when she was able to travel and Grace would tell her a story. You are in our thoughts at this time.

Ruby LeDrew was a woman of extraordinary character, charisma and generosity. She had a prominent presence in both the community of CBS and the community of the church. She was quick to give when it was needed and without prompting And she was private about her generosity. Ruby was the foundation of the family and was indeed the building block upon which the family was built. She had a kind smile, was mischievous and free spirited. She was quick with a comeback and just as quick with a kind word. I met her when she hired me to host her 80th birthday party. It was a different sort of party. Presumably you would think it was held to honor her, but no. Her 80th was a fundraiser and the proceeds of which were given directly to the Shriners. Selfless. Quietly so. No one knew the cost of the fundraiser was paid for by her, for her 80th. Extraordinary character. It is a great loss for all of those who knew her and a great loss for those who didn't get the chance. I am all the more blessed for having known her.
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of loss and a prayer for comfort in the days to come.
May Ruby rest in peace.
