Obituary of Priscilla Mooney

Priscilla Mooney (Whiffen) October 30, 1936 – March 2, 2021 Mom passed peacefully away on Tuesday, March 2nd, 2021 at Admiral’s Coast Retirement Centre, where she resided for the last 6 years. With her family near and far, Mom knew she was loved and never alone, as those permitted to visit in person were at her side. Others had window visits, those living away had virtual visits, and many phone calls were made. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Mary Whiffen; brothers Michael, Patrick, and Pius; sister Shirley O’Reilly; son John and husband Patrick Mooney; son-in-law Barry. Left with fond and loving memories are her children Michael (Debbie), Amelia, Patricia (Sylvain), Robert (Elaine), Colleen (Danny), Catherine (Darrell), Peter (Sandra), Yvette (Jason); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. We would like to thank the staff at Admiral’s Coast Retirement Centre for all their care and support during these difficult times, special mention to Laura and Shannon. Thank you to Hickey’s Funeral Home for their care and kindness. Mom was a sharp card player and loved a good game of Growl, Crib, or Skat. She enjoyed teasing her card buddies at ACRC by leaving most nights with their quarters in her cash can. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service is planned. Interment will take place in her home town of Buchans’ at a later date.
