The Taylor Family

My dad, Charles LeGrow of Bauline and Mr.Taylor worked together at Summers and had a lasting friendship. I last talked to Mr.Taylor at my dad’s wake and we had a lovely chat about their work at Summers. He was a lovely man. Memories are beautiful keepsakes.

So very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. Eric goes back a long time with our family, from digging our grounds, coming to our store and general friendship. I have to add that he was so very fondly thought about by my mother in law and father in law, Charlie and Agnes Summers when he worked for George Summers and Sons. Especially when I first met the Summers family and they realized I grew up not far from Eric Taylor then I must be alright and all was well with us! So many times his name came up in our talks and they spoke of his kindness, his work ethic and often his advice. It worked both ways as he was fond of them. To Eric's family and friends, all of us here at Taylors Market were so sorry to hear of dear Eric's passing. We loved seeing him come into the store over the years! He would faithfully stop by every other day sometimes just to say hi! He would always stay for a good yarn and laugh with us family or with other customers! We'd usually have something cooking on the stove and he would always have a taste especially if it was fish! He loved his cod tongues! He was a wonderful man very kind and thoughtful. RUBY, ROXANNE and FAMILIES - Your Dad and I became very close friends in recent years, we drank many a "Tims", and he was like a father figure to me. We went through thick and thin together. He may have been 85 in calendar years, but he was always a young man at heart. He was game to try anything, as was evident by all the toys he gathered around him and his family over the years – you’re only going this way once, and no one was going hungry. Technology was not his thing to understand, but he was not afraid to jump onboard with it, especially when I was only a phone call away. He had a heart of gold, and he wore it on his sleeve. His family was everything to him, and he relayed many stories to me about Edith and himself, whom I am now sure has him running off for another carton of cigarettes. He was a pillar in his Church, and even into his eighties he put in many countless hours, and some pretty long days in the kitchen. He was a gentle soul, and he will be missed by many, two of which are Ros and I. He is now at peace, and may God bless his soul, and may he now find rest with his soulmate, Edith. To quote a great man, Eric, “Thank-you”.

Ruby,Richard,Roxanne, Glenn and families. I am so sorry to hear of Eric’s passing yesterday. A kinder man there never was
I will cherish the memories of him on our time on the bikes and our many weekends on the road. I will miss his calls to help him figure out the workings of his gadgets. He loved those even though they frustrated him on time.
Most of all I will miss his signature last words of a call or visit “Thank you”

I used to see Eric when he came to the refinery in Holyrood for petroleum. We all looked forward to seeing Eric because he was so pleasant. What a lovely man!!
