Obituary of Marie Ryan

Passed peacefully away at Chancellor Park on June 18, 2021 at the age of 86. Predeceased by her parents Augustine and Henrietta Ryan, and by her brother Michael. She will always be remembered, loved and missed by her daughter Nicole (Greg) Traverse, granddaughter Christina (Aaron Dawe), grandson Michael, of Hantsport, NS, sister-in-law Monica Ryan, her nephews Keith and Darcy, and her niece Danielle, as well as her chosen family - the McDonald’s. (Henry, Sheila, Eugene, William, Donald, Margie, Ruth, Karen, Sandra and Keith).Marie began a long career as a telegraph operator with Canadian National Telegraph and continued on with them as they became Terra Nova Tel and then Newfoundland Telephone. During these years, she travelled and worked in many communities all over Newfoundland, making good friends wherever she went. These friendships remained with her throughout her life. Special thanks to the staff of Admirals Coast Retirement Center and more recently, Chancellor Park, for their kind and exemplary care for Marie over the past three years. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Good Shepherd Parish Church, St. Joseph’s, St. Mary’s Bay on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 10 AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
