Passed peacefully away on August 20th, 2021 at his summer home overlooking the harbor in King’s Cove, Bonavista Bay, Walter Joseph Bishop of Upper Gullies, age 68 years. Predeceased by his parents: George and Jean Bishop, parents-in-law: James and Bertille Kelly, special aunt and uncle: Emma and Cyril Kennedy, sisters-in-law: Anne Beresford, Ellen Maddox and Mary Bishop, brothers-in-law: Kevin Mahoney, Kevin Beresford and Fred and Gerard Kelly, niece: Sherri Hoskins. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 43 years: Sue, son: Christopher (Madison, Avery and Jack, Brothers: Dave, Wayne (Carrie) and Michael (Karen), sisters: Glenys Penner and Susan Stark (Ron), aunts: Vera Clarke (Ron) and Florence Morgan, sisters-in-law: Veronica Mahoney (Friend Paul), Mary Batterton (John), Dorothy Ryan (Kevin), Hilda Barren (Gerald), Geraldine Ryan (Aiden), Maureen Kelly and Laura Kelly (Ivan Andrews), brothers-in-law: Tom Maddox, Jim Kelly (Rosalind), Sam Kelly (Ruby) and Pat Kelly (Brenda). Also a large circle of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. According to COVID restrictions, visitation will be in Hickey’s Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Sunday, August 29, 2021 from 2 PM – 7 PM. Funeral service to take place at St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Upper Gullies on Monday, August 30, 2021 at 2 PM. Internment in St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery, Upper Gullies.
