We both want to send you are love and sympathies, Ern especially has been touched by the news of Ed's passing. He recalls him as a great buddy in his teenage years but even more of a loyal, dedicated friend when Ern first came to work in the city. Ed was his taxi, his city guide, his mentor, his downtown buddy you name it and Ern owes him a wealth of gratitude in making him a particular and skilled carpenter through learning so much from Ed. The bonds are strong and long between the Stagg family and the Goodyear family and that makes his passing so difficult to hear. So sorry to hear of Ed's Passing. Condolences to the families. I have so many childhood memories of Ed growing up in Lumsden. My very first motorcycle ride was with Ed has a teenager and a ruin pair of new shoes, boy was he ever mad with me. I can still smell the rubber burning on the exhaust of his bike. I last spoke with Ed a few summers ago down Lumsden North, always a memorable laugh and good stories from the past. Hold on to the cherish memories and know that he will forever live within your hearts. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My sincere sympathy to Shelly and all of Ed's family. I feel your pain as you mourn his death at too young an age.
Ed's grandmother was a sister to my father; we are all cousins.
Ed was also our go-to carpenter in recent years. He put in 3 sets of hardwood steps a few years ago. He also laid the hardwood flooring. He was a superb craftsman. Thank you, Ed. Rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of your loss and how devastating this must be for your family. Met Eddie a few times and he had a very calming nature about him. and Shelley is obviously the talker of the 2! xx Met Nicole a handful of times and what a lovely girl and obviously Shelley and Eddie did a very good job on raising their daughter. Never had the pleasure of meeting their son but if the nut doesn't fall far from the tree, as they say, he must be a great guy as well. We have many great memories of growing up with Eddie. Sledding out behind his house on Topsail Rd when we were just kids, BBQs on Simms Island at Rod’s cabin as teenagers, a friends trip to St Pierre in the early 1990s, New Years Eve celebrations on the waterfront in 2000 and many more great times. Too many to mention. Eddie was always a handyman you could call on when in need. He will be fondly remembered.
