Mrs. Francis and Family:
I meet your husband several years ago through the Legion. I am belong to RCL Br. #33 Placentia. I often talked to Herb at District Meetings and at his home Branch #50. He was a great story teller and loved a good laugh. As a Veteran he was a great inspiration to me. I am sorry for your loss but I lam sure you and your family have a lifetime of happy memories. Mrs Patsy Francis and Family -
I write to express to the Francis family the sincere condolences of the Patricia’s on the passing of Herb Francis. The Regiment remembers Herb's service, and the family I am sure is proud of that service. His name will be read in this year’s list of the lost when we read that out on November 11th, 2021 in the Sacred Space in Beechwood, the National Military Cemetery, Ottawa. Herb's name will also be listed in the 2021 edition of the Patrician’s Last Post section.
Thank you for obviously supporting Herb throughout his service and later. We are glad that he had a vibrant family and stayed connected with his military roots by supporting the Legion.

Patsy & Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. When I became legion president Herb was my "Go to person" for anything I needed to know about the workings of the legion. He knew all the bylaws and the correct protocol for everything. He looked after the order of events in all of our ceremonies and he was a kind, thoughtful person. I will miss him. I will forever think of him on July 1.

I met Herb several years ago when I started doing his foot-care.. Herb was a very kind and gentle man who loved telling a great story or going above and beyond to help a stranger.
