We never kept in touch however two summers ago, I was sitting down at Holy Cross Swimming Park and when I looked she was sitting next to me! We chatted and she was the same as thirty years ago.

I adored Dawn and feel so lucky to have grown up spending so much time with her, as she was my Moms close friend. Some of my favourite memories of Dawn to share:
Even though I was only 18 when Noah was born, she would always trust me to hold and cuddle him. I was one of the first people to babysit Noah. I felt so special and loved, that Dawn trusted me with her precious baby.
More recently, in the summer of 2017 I visited home and Mom, Dawn and I hiked the east coast trail along with some other friends. It was a beautiful day… like NL tourism ad kind-of-weather ..We even saw whales.
At my sisters wedding in 2019, I got to dance, drink and share laughs with Dawn. This was the last time I saw her, and we had a fantastic night.
Besides the memories, I will always remember Dawn’s smile. Like seriously? Who has a smile like that? She should have been in a Crest commercial! Something that sticks out in my mind from years ago is from back in the day when we still “developed film” from cameras. Mom had gotten some pictures developed from one of the many nights they’d get together with friends. My Dad, Scott, flipped through the pictures without much thought or attention. He suddenly lands on one of Dawn, shows it to Mom and goes “Dawn is just so beautiful. Just look how photogenic she is, Nance.” I remember I giggled to myself and then thought “he’s totally right!”

I was so saddened to hear about the passing of your sister Dawn. I have such fond memories of Dawn coming over to the HSC to have supper with us and then heading to the Medical library to study for the the evening. It is hard to believe that that was over 25 years ago. Her picture is exactly how I remember her. She was a beautiful person inside and out. Oh my, so saddened when I heard this news... Dawn was a friend of mine from childhood growing up in Rabbit-town. Many a Friday nights I would go to her house so she could braid my hair and exchange clothes to wear out that night. Dawn was a wonderful friend....
