Obituary of Linda Snelgrove

 

 

Linda Snelgrove (1948 – 2022)

It is with great sadness that the Snelgrove family announce the passing of a dear sister, aunt and great-Aunt, Linda Elizabeth Myrtle Snelgrove, at age 73 years of age, who passed peacefully away on February 8th, 2022 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre. Predeceased by her parents: Jessie and John  Charles Snelgrove, brothers:(Frederick Snelgrove, Kenneth and his twin brother Robert Snelgrove), grandparents: (Annie and Kenneth Snelgrove, and Fred and Suzanne Snelgrove), sister-in-law: Doreen Snelgrove, brother-in-law: Vandy Barrett and Linda’s very dear friend: Laura Porter. Leaving to mourn: her brother Peter (Jim) Snelgrove and sister-in-law: Wanda, sisters: Barbara LeShane (George), Paulette Barrett, Suzanne Dawe, nephew/brother: Robert Snelgrove (Lynn), sister-in-law: Lorraine Snelgrove, family friend: Joyce Russell, Linda’s very special  and close friend: Marion Howell who was always there for her and her special friend: Peggy Hatcher who  Linda always referred to as family. Also leaving to mourn her Uncle Russell Snelgrove from Lower Island Cove and her Aunt Gladys Snelgrove living in Montreal, Quebec. Also a large number of nieces/great-nieces and nephews/great-nephews whom she adored, as well as a number of cousins and friends. Linda showed tremendous strength and courage as she battled with an aggressive cancer which resulted in a leg amputation. Special thanks to all the health care staff who assisted her in this difficult journey including Dr. Frank O’Dea and Dr. Stewart Rorke and all the staff at the Dr.H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre and the  Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre, including the Palliative Care Team. According to COVID restrictions, there will be no visitation and a private funeral service will take place in Hickey’s Memorial Chapel, Kelligrews on Friday, February 11th, 2022 at 10:30 AM by invitation only. Interment in St. Peter's Anglican Cemetery, Upper Gullies. VaxPass and Identification are required to attend the funeral service.
