I grew up with Harvey we were the best of friends .There were four of us all together . Steve Petten , Jim Petten , Harvey and myself ( Bob) Harvey always had chores to do and sometimes we would help so we could hang out after the chores we're done. most nights by the time the chores were done it was time to go home but we always had a laugh and a carry on . The first one to pass away was Steve . Jim and I picked Harvey up at his house and the three of us went to the funeral together. after the church service was over we went to the graveyard only to find out they couldn't get a backhoe close enough. We would have to do it by hand .Our hearts was broken as it was but with the help of Steve's Brothers and a few friends We laid our friend to rest . We walked back to car and just sat there for awhile. Jim spoke first and said I wonder which one of us are next. Jim passed a few years ago and now Harvey . My childhood friends have all gone home . A man is lucky if he got one good friend, I was Blessed . Rest in peace Harvey .

TO THE TAYLOR FAMILY - The Taylor and Fagan families go back a long, long way. Long before I had the privilege of wedging into my spot on that crowded sofa in Harve's old homestead, that used to be situated on the corner of Barnacle Road. While Reg was my personal buddy at the time, Harve was also always there with his buddies. They were a close-nit clan. Harve, as we know, migrated to "the mainland" with a couple of buddies, and we lost touch. But years later when he returned, we had the opportunity to have a few good chats. And of course Harve had his say on the local farmer's market, and wrote a few rather articulate pieces in the local newspapers. Harve was Harve !!! - a quiet soul - meaning nobody any harm - extremely good at heart. I know he will be missed by his family and friends, and may you all find comfort in the many good memories that float to the surface at a time like this. And may God rest his soul.

Well Harv, ol buddy, you still know how to get my attention.. it is too bad nature had you do it this way.. now you got me sending sincerest condolences to your entire family.. sure do wish you were just having trouble getting your TV remote to work properly or you needed a hand with something else... going to miss you buddy... won't be able to look at the old place again without thinking of our chats and a scatter nip of something.. rest easy my friend until we meet again.

To all the Taylor Family.... My deepest condolences to you all...For those that do not know me..I am Doug's sister in law and live in Cambridge Ontario. Many years ago Harv came and stayed at my place in Cambridge for a few days when my kids were small. While my husband and I were at work...he would take the kids to all the different parks and sightseeing showing them places I didn't even know about. I got a chance to see a good kind caring man that wanted to help everyone that came across his path especially those down on their luck. Rest in peace Harv...Hugs to all the family..

While I never knew Harvey, I do know his son. Jake is an amazing husband, father, Uncle, brother, and Son in Law. He often speaks of growing up surrounded by family and gardens, fish markets and friends. He spoke highly of his father and the garden he grew and also shares the knowledge in which his father instilled in him! Jake has always said
We grew the best ‘veggables’ around!!
These are the moments that Jake and his siblings will carry forever with them ..
