Lois was a very caring and thoughtful person as I recollect and probably in more ways than I even know. Many good memories Hugh that won't be forgotten and I'm sure many, many more for you and your family.

Dear Hugh, Darren, Mark & family, I am truly sorry and deeply saddened by Lois's passing. When Craig notified me on Sunday I spent the day reminiscing and sharing my wonderful memories of Lois and your family with my husband and children. I remember when you moved into the house in Seal Cove. I was the boys babysitter for many years. I also spent a lot of time with Lois who was always a wonderful, kind & loving person & friend. I'm not sure that she was aware just how much her friendship and mentorship meant to me as a teenager. Our family were also very grateful to her for the many times that she took care of Kim when Mom was not able to.
A particular memory that stands out in my mind is the day that I was going for our afternoon tea, which we did most afternoons. I knocked on the door and made the mistake of saying "Hi Mrs. Jacobs." As children we were taught to call our elders by Mr. & Mrs but our friendship had grown to the point that Lois refused to open the door until I became comfortable with calling her by her first name. She promised not to tell my parents so I wouldn't get into trouble. To my Dad's dismay Lois was also the person who cut my very long hair and gave me a very stylish look for my Grade 11 Grad.
Hughie, Darren & Mark, the days ahead will be difficult. I hope you will find comfort and peace in knowing that your beloved wife, mother & grandmother touched the lives of so many, she was always a kind, loving and generous person and she will be sadly missed. I pray that you will find comfort in sharing the memories that you as a family created together.
