Obituary of (Edgar) Wayne Harvey

Harvey, (Edgar) Wayne 1955-2022

With broken hearts and disbelief, we announce the unexpected passing of a loving husband, father, brother, brother-in law and uncle. Never far from his heart were his father (Edgar) who passed in 1995, his mother (Dallas) who passed in 1978 and nephew Todd (1994).

Wayne was a man who was happy to lead a simple, yet fruitful life.  And by his side for the last 38 years was his devoted wife Leona (Corcoran) his biggest supporter and soul mate and for the last 25 years his precious daughter, Lacey for whom his love had no bounds. Their hearts are shattered beyond belief.

Wayne was a proud seaman working his entire career as a Master Home Trade (Captain)  and Chief Officerin both national and international waters and who made personal sacrifices to follow his dream. His passion for the sea, his love of history and even astrology was outstanding, and his family often marvelled at his quiet, but in-depth knowledge.

But most of all Wayne cherished his families – Clayton (Moe) with whom they lived only feet apart, Albert (Terri) his go-to for anything mechanical, and Karen (Tom) in Edmonton who was the apple of his eye and nieces and nephews Sonya, Michelle, Courtney, Kyle, Tina, special nephew Gavyn, and great nieces and nephews (Olivia, Claire, Aubree, Ayden and Benton).

He will also be sorely missed by his huge family of in-laws, nieces and nephews in the Corcoran family and especially brother-in-law Kevin Williams with whom he created some very special memories.

For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more”
