Obituary of Roberta Strowbridge

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Roberta Gladys Strowbridge

(nee Rose), announce her peaceful passing, with her loving family by her side, on

Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Palliative Care Centre,

St. John’s, NL, at the age of 83 years. Roberta lived most of her life in Port aux

Basques, NL. Roberta was the daughter of the late John and Sarah Rose.

She was also predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Russell; Half Sisters; Ethel

Simms and Kay Loder Half Brothers; Chesley Rose and John Rose.

She leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories of children; Russell

Jr. (Joanne), Port aux Basques, NL, Wanda (Dale) Bogle, Long Lake, NS, Randy

(Valerie), Paradise, NL and Roger, Standard, AB, grandchildren; Charlene, Melissa,

John, Jessica, Randell, Matthew, Darren and Mallory, great-grandchildren; Bristol,

Logan, Gavin, Cash, Reid, Kiara and Jack, twin sister, Berthina Taylor St. John’s, NL,

as well as large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Roberta worked many years at Hotel Port aux Basques. She enjoyed cooking,

knitting, playing cards and especially spending time with her family and friends.

A special thank-you to the staff at the Heritage Square Retirement Living in

Conception Bay South, NL and the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Palliative Care Centre, St.

John’s, NL. Your compassion and care will remain in our hearts forever.

Cremation will take on Sunday, December 18th, 2022. A visitation and memorial

service will take place at a later date in Port Aux Basques. Roberta will join her

loving husband at the St. James Anglican Church Cemetery, Port aux Basques, NL.

Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of one’s

choice.
